The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge

While we get to celebrate some romance on the way to Springfest in the Smokies, we wanted to showcase a place in Pigeon Forge that’s opened year-round, full of culture and a wonderful place to consider as part of your Valentine’s Day or other romantic getaway itinerary.

Now what could that place be? Is it the Alcatraz Prison Museum on the parkway? Is it the TopJump Trampoline and Extreme Arena towards Gatlinburg? Or would it be The Old Mill mentioned in the blog title? Well, any of those spots would be good depending on what you two are into, but for this article, we are in fact talking about The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge!

The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge is easy to find from the parkway with signs helping to point it out. You drive across a bridge where the famous Pigeon Forge city waterfall is and there you are! The Old Mill Square is a small but very entertaining area that offers a surprising amount of shops, eateries and special events that take place throughout the year. These shops and the setting are considered Pigeon Forge’s equivalent to the Arts and Crafts Community in Gatlinburg, so you will find high-quality, harder-to-find or locally made items in a variety of genres and tastes.

Items include:
* Locally made clothes.
* Cooking and kitchen items.
* Foods, jams, flour, chocolate and more.
* Books.
* Hiking supplies.
* “World Treasures”.
* Southern home decor.
* Legally distilled moonshine.
* Olive oils.
* Locally made candles.
* Gold and jewelry.

There is the Old Mill Restaurant and the Old Mill Cafe onsite as well. The restaurant is suited for bigger dinners while the cafe is better suited for lighter, more intimate meals.

Next door to The Old Mill is Patriot Park, Pigeon Forge’s most famous and most accesible city park where you can run, bike, fish, feed ducks and geese, catch a trolley from the trolley hub and more.
